Tournament Information
The 2017 USGF FitCon Grappling Championship is the inaugural Utah Grappling event sanctioned by the U.S. Grappling Federation. It is an “open” event, which means anyone can enter the grappling tournament regardless of experience level. Regardless if you are a novice to the sport, or an elite level martial artist in any discipline, you may register to compete for the title of FitCon Grappling Tournament Champion. For those of you who are new to the sport of Submission Grappling, it is basically ‘mixed martial arts’ minus striking. Techniques from any “grappling” discipline may be utilized in competition such as wrestling, jiu jitsu, judo, sambo, etc. You may enter to compete in a “Gi” or “No Gi” competition. In the Gi contest, the USGF follows the same rules that govern the IBJJF. The No-Gi contest has a separate scoring system.

Fitcon Fight Night
FitCon is proud to present the top MMA fights in Utah! We match elite fighters from around the state to compete in the ultimate combat event. These fighters will showcase their skills by using techniques in jiu-jitsu, Muay thai, judo, grappling, striking, and many more. Not only are the fighters elite, but we provide a top of the line AV experience with lighting, sound, and projectors. The fight card consists of a combination of professional fights mixed with amateurs. There are typically around 10-14 bouts on the fight card making a night of action packed combat. These fighters train year round for an opportunity to be invited to the FitCon Fight Night!
Local legend Jeremy Horn and Jennifer Howe are the masterminds behind the fight card. Jeremy has over 100 professional MMA fights against names such as Chuck Lidell, Anderson Silva, Chael Sonnet, Forrest Griffin, and many more. His experience in the fighting world has proven vital in the success of the FitCon Fight Night. He now owns and operates a locally run MMA gym called Elite Performance Gym.
The FitCon fight night will take place on Friday, April 21 at the largest venue in Utah, the Salt Palace. These MMA fights will take pace on the main stage in Hall 5 of the Salt Palace. There are a limited amount of tickets available as we do have capacity seating. Last year, we sold out and were unable to allow any more people into the venue. The doors for seating open at 6:30 pm and the fights begin at 7:00 pm. Tickets begin at a $20 add on to the FitCon general admission price and can be purchased at www.fitconutah.com/tickets.
